20 Killer Ways to Find Your Next SaaS Idea
Grab a coffee and let's talk SaaS together.
Hey, hey - it’s Mike! 😁
Today, I just wanted to share a list I crafted to come up with your next SaaS idea.
20 Killer Ways to Find Your Next SaaS Idea:
Scrape 1- and 2-star G2 or Capterra reviews. Users will tell you what's broken.
Browse Acquire (dot com). Look for micro-SaaS tools you could modernize or niche down.
Search Product Hunt for upvoted launches with low traction. Often it's poor execution, not a bad idea.
Use BuiltWith to find old tools still in use. Build a lean, modern replacement.
Study all-in-one SaaS products. Create a focused, lightweight alternative.
Scan Indie Hackers and X for churn complaints. These are real, urgent pain points.
Review public feature request boards. Unshipped demand is sitting there.
Turn popular open-source SaaS on GitHub into hosted tools for non-devs.
Use SEO tools to find buyer-intent keywords with zero strong product results.
Ask AI to analyze YC startup models and apply them to overlooked niches.
Search Reddit for posts with “frustrated” or “wish there was.” Pain points are product clues.
Interview niche professionals. Ask what they hate most about their workflow.
Watch YouTube tutorials. Look for manual, repeatable steps you could automate.
Ask freelancers what they bill for repeatedly. That task is screaming to be productized.
Find top-selling Notion templates or Airtable bases. Build standalone apps around them.
Scan Gumroad and Etsy for digital products. Identify missing or clunky parts of the process.
Use AI to mine your own DMs and social comments for repeated asks or pain points.
Join niche Facebook or Slack groups. Lurk and note what problems come up again and again.
Use Google Trends to spot rising topics with no SaaS tools serving them yet.
Scrape the n8n marketplace. See what workflows people are trying to automate and productize them.
Hope it’s helpful.
That’s it for today!
See you next week,
Mike 🙌
